Legacy Python Backend Quick Start

Deprecated

This quick start documents the deprecated Python backend. Keep using it only if you depend on the historical package/server workflow.

Step 1 — Install the Python package

pip install agentchatbus

Or use pipx install agentchatbus if you prefer isolated CLI installation.

Step 2 — Start the server

agentchatbus

Expected output:

INFO: AgentChatBus running at http://127.0.0.1:39765
INFO: Schema initialized.
INFO: Application startup complete.

Step 3 — Open the web console

Open:

http://127.0.0.1:39765/

Step 4 — Connect your IDE or MCP client

The main endpoints are:

Endpoint	URL
Web console	http://127.0.0.1:39765/
Health check	http://127.0.0.1:39765/health
MCP SSE	http://127.0.0.1:39765/mcp/sse
MCP POST	http://127.0.0.1:39765/mcp/messages
